Held in the stars and protected by the deep waters, the ancient mother has traveled from the womb of the earth into the sky and back many times. She has slept in the pools of water left by the tears of women and soared through the heavens on dreams in the dark of the night. She is created in the image of the first woman, and holds the secrets of untold stories that women have kept in their hearts, hidden until tears washed away the veil and opened the portals. The symbol of the earth is held in her belly, protected by her amniotic fluids, as the moon travels with her each cycle. May we honor her journey through ours, weeping the tears that cleanse us, speaking the words of our stories, sharing the wisdom we have learned with each generation, burning new pathways of knowledge.
