It is widely known in indigenous lore that every women is born with a spirit animal. Not every woman has the ability or chooses to birth a human but she does have the ability to bring her spirit animal to life and form.
You see, all women and humans are born many times and into many forms, but our spirit animal remains the same…
The awakening to spirit is usually traumatic and spurred by events that break her heart open like an egg, releasing the inner wisdom and wildness into form. It is a birth that happens and an inner knowing that takes its first breath. When woman and spirit animal recognize one another the embriotic yolk spills onto their feet to create a new path together…
Women who walk with spirit are usually spirit elders with many lives having already been lived. They are the seer’s, psychics and healers, they are the knowers and believers and wield a paintbrush and palette of armor.
She is the roots of the trees that feed the earth and creates the air that we breathe. She is the protector of love and compassion or fire and wind. And in this story, she is the one that howls at the moon and calls the tides down to reveal the elements of the land… she is the moonwalker…
