Soulbird flew onto my canvas in the fall of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic and California fires. Her energy wanted to be big, strong, and full of hope from the first brush strokes. She carries the Earth in her heart, protecting and loving it and is guided by the moon’s feminine energy and intuition. The winding path that flows through her body invites trust.
At the beginning of her journey, Soulbird was half tree, with deep roots drawing up nourishment while blessings sprinkled down from her wings like rain, holding healing prayers for the dry California land and an end to the fires. Then, she lifted off, carrying the Earth within her as if bringing me/us to a new level with new perspective and new possibilities. She carries many prayers for our planet, for peace, healing, love, strength, and courage to follow the heart. Every time I look at her, I'm inspired.
Soulbird’s Message:
And then one night,
the wings she’d been knitting for years
opened--
Wider and stronger than she ever imagined.
A path she recognized as her own
unfurled in front of her.
She dropped her plans to the floor,
ran to the edge of all she’d known,
and leapt
into the moonlight.
