I began this painting as part of the Red Madonna process but came to a stopping point where I could not move until I realized that one of the key figures was Corona, the Mother of Covid and then the painting came together for me. I had always know that Mother Earth would be the Red Madonna but I thought she would be the central figure, she was not, she was actually in the forefront on fire. Mother Mary was the central figure comforting Mother Earth with Corona holding tightly on Mary. The figure who became Corona always reminded me of the Munch painting, "The Scream". She was frightening or was frightened. I am not sure.

Other figures that came to be were an Asian Angel comforting a human around the rib cage, a doctor in goggles and the words of George Floyd, "Mama, I can't breathe" and so we can't - Our planet, our bodies and our ability to live in peace together.
